Rohkeimmillaan se anasti päiväsaikaan autotallista ihmisravinnoksi tarkoitetut hevosenlihat Löpöntien varrella. Susi liikuskeli asuintalojen pihalla välittämättä juurikaan ihmisistä. Lähimmillään se laski ihmisen 20–30 metrin päähän.
Poliisi päätti lopetuttaa suden, koska sen käyttäytyminen oli lajille epätyypillistä. Poliisi katsoi myös, että eläimen toiminta aiheutti ihmisten hengelle ja terveydelle vaaraa.
Susi oli nuori uros, jonka paino oli 15 kilogrammaa. Se oli laiha mutta muutoin terveenoloinen. Poliisi toimittaa eläimen tutkittavaksi elintarviketurvallisuusvirasto Eviran Oulun tutkimusyksikköön.
